Asheville, North Carolina a Hit with the Obamas!
This past Spring, Asheville North Carolina was pleased to welcome the ‘First Family’ for a quick getaway from the Capitol. While there, the Obamas visited the famous Biltmore Estate and stayed at the historic Grove Park Inn.
DeNure Tours also recognizes that Asheville is a great holiday destination, and we are proud to be in such great company! We’re pleased to offer a tour to North Carolina and we have also developed a new Biltmore at Christmas holiday getaway for 2010.
Both tours visit the Biltmore Estate and also enjoy dinner at the Grove Park Inn. The holiday getaway also takes in a viewing of the National Gingerbread Competition at the Grove Park Inn!
Helpful Hints for Border Crossings
The U.S. Customs & Border Protection Agency (CBP) reminds travellers that they should refrain from putting locks on their suitcases when they are crossing the border. Locked baggage can interfere with the inspection process and that could mean more time waiting at the border crossing.
Typically, travellers are simply asked to open any locked baggage, but in the rare event an unaccompanied bag is found, the CBP has the authority to cut or break the lock to perform their inspection.
Canada’s Border Services Agency has the same policy on locked baggage, so remember that if you lock your bags after crossing into the U.S. you need to unlock them when you cross back into Canada!
Reminder: Travellers are prohibited from bringing meat, dairy, fruits or vegetables into the United States. If you fail to declare any food products, you could be fined.
