Susan DeNure Sports Fund
Susan believed all children should have access to sporting activities.
Susan DeNure was an avid cyclist and athlete throughout her life and believed that all children should have equal access to sporting activities, particularly cycling, even if their families lacked the financial resources to get them involved.
Promoting active lifestyles for children in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
The Susan DeNure Sports Fund was launched in February 2012 by the Boys & Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes. It’s made possible by the financial commitment of Ray DeNure, in memory of his wife, Susan. The goal of the Fund is to promote active living amongst children and youth in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Encouraging fitness and physical activity in the community.
With the support of the Susan DeNure Sports Fund, the Boys & Girls Club will be offering Sprockids Mountain Biking, Steve Nash Basketball and Canadian Ball Hockey Program in 9 communities across the City of Kawartha Lakes. These programs will increase the annual fitness and activity levels of over 1,700 children and youth from 4 to 18 years of age.
