Explore Canada’s majestic north on a 4-day tour to the Agawa Canyon. Travel by rail, ferry and deluxe motorcoach as you journey across the rugged Canadian Shield, awash in vibrant autumn colours.

Breathe in Tobermory’s cooling lake and bay breezes as you admire the turquoise waters that the quaint harbour town is famous for. Cross Devil’s Gap aboard the Chi-Cheemaun ferry to Manitoulin Island. Marvel at geological wonders carved by glaciers and thundering prehistoric waterfalls. Deepen your understanding of Indigenous culture at the Assiginack Museum, a community museum documenting early life on the Island.

Board the Agawa Canyon Train and travel 182 kilometres along the lakes and granite landscape made famous by the Group of Seven artists. Enjoy time to explore the canyon during a lunch break before you begin a trip snaking back through ravines and crossing gorges on trestle bridges. With stunning scenery and a relaxing train excursion, this is a quintessential Canadian experience.

Agawa Canyon (All Canadian) – 4 Days

Day 1: Tobermory

Travel along the Niagara Escarpment to the Bruce Peninsula and on to Tobermory, a quaint harbour town, boasting shops, art galleries, and a wonderful array of restaurants. Enjoy dinner this evening with your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Sault Ste. Marie

Board the Chi-Cheemaun ferry to cross the main channel between Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, on your way to Manitoulin Island. Visit the Assiginack Museum and learn about early life on the Island. Take time to appreciate the comprehensive array of fine glassware, porcelain, and pottery before enjoying an included lunch. Then continue your journey to Sault Ste. Marie.

Day 3: Agawa Canyon

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before boarding the train. Travel to the Agawa Canyon, with the vibrant colours of autumn on display. You will have an hour and a half to stroll the base of the canyon, enjoy a picnic lunch or take in the breathtaking vistas and landscapes. Return to the hotel by dinnertime.

Day 4: Travel home

On your journey home experience a visit to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, a hands-on facility featuring 29 planes including the 1st Beaver float plane. Enjoy a farewell lunch with your fellow travellers, then sit back and watch the autumn leaves fly by as you travel home.
