Agawa Canyon (Plus Mackinac Island) – 5 Days

Day 1: Frankenmuth, MI

Travel through southwestern Ontario, past Sarnia and into Michigan. Arriving in Frankenmuth, visit Bronner’s Christmas Store. Enjoy a family-style chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn restaurant this evening. Finish of the day with a delightful display at the world famous Glockenspiel.

Day 2: Mackinac Island, MI

Today travel from Frankenmuth to Mackinac Island! Arrive in Mackinaw City where you will have time to enjoy lunch at your leisure then step back in time as you take a ferry to the Island.  Upon your arrival you will be met by a horse drawn carriage (the only permissible mode of transportation) which will take you on a guided tour of the island. Then spend the night on the island, with a beautiful dinner included at the hotel.

Day 3: Sault Ste. Marie, ON

Enjoy some free time this morning to explore the many shops and galleries on and around the Main Street. Your horse drawn taxi will then whisk you up to the Grand Hotel where you will be seated in the grand ballroom for a delicious lunch.  You then depart the island and travel to Sault Ste. Marie. Upon arrival, discover the Canadian Bush Plane Museum where you can climb aboard real vintage aircrafts and feel the intense fury of battling a forest fire in a 3-D film experience! Spend a free evening in Sault Ste. Marie.

Day 4: Agawa Canyon, ON

After breakfast at the hotel, board the train and begin your journey to the Agawa Canyon. The vibrant colours of autumn are on display and you will have time to experience the beauty of the canyon floor. While there you can enjoy a picnic lunch, hike to the lookout tower or simply take in the breathtaking vistas of the Bridal Veil and Black Beaver Falls. The train returns to Sault Ste. Marie by late afternoon.

Day 5: Travel Home

Your comfortable motorcoach trip home includes a morning visit to Ermatinger Clergue. This National Historic Site is a cultural attraction which consists of an interactive Heritage Discovery Centre and two of the oldest stone buildings, located northwest of Toronto; the Ermatinger Old Stone House and the Clergue Blockhouse.

Stop en route for an included lunch before arriving home.
