Agawa Canyon (Plus Mackinac Island) – 5 Days

Day 1: Frankenmuth, MI

Travel through southwestern Ontario, past Sarnia and into Michigan. Arriving in Frankenmuth, visit Bronner’s Christmas Store. Enjoy a family-style chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn restaurant this evening.

Day 2: Mackinac Island, MI

Today travel from Frankenmuth to Mackinac Island! Arrive in Mackinaw City where you will have time to enjoy lunch at your leisure then step back in time as you take a ferry to across and spend the night on the island and with a beautiful dinner included at the hotel.

Day 3: Sault Ste. Marie, ON

Tour Mackinac Island by horse-drawn carriage, the only permissible form of transport since no cars are allowed! Sit down for a delicious lunch at the Grand Hotel then depart the island and travel to Sault Ste. Marie. Upon arrival, discover the Canadian Bush Plane Heritage Centre where you can climb aboard real vintage aircrafts and feel the intense fury of battling a forest fire in a 3-D film experience! Spend a free evening in Sault Ste. Marie.

Day 4: Agawa Canyon, ON

After breakfast at the hotel, board the train and begin your journey to the Agawa Canyon. The vibrant colours of autumn are on display and you will have time to experience the beauty of the canyon floor. While there you can enjoy a picnic lunch, hike to the lookout tower or simply take in the breathtaking vistas of the Bridal Veil and Black Beaver Falls. The train returns to Sault Ste Marie by late afternoon.

Day 5: Travel home

Your comfortable motorcoach trip home includes a morning visit to Ermatinger Clergue. This National Historic Site is a cultural attraction which consists of an interactive Heritage Discovery Centre and two of the oldest stone buildings, located northwest of Toronto; the Ermatinger Old Stone House and the Clergue Blockhouse.

Stop en route for an included lunch before saying farewell to your fellow travellers.
