Meet the Drum Atweme, a remarkable musical troupe of at-risk Aboriginal youth and savour the tastes and surroundings at your authentic Outback dinner. Travel to the east coast to delve into the colourful and exotic world of the Great Barrier Reef. Take part in a remarkable guided tour of the Sydney Opera House and a enjoy a scenic dinner cruise in Sydney Harbour. Throughout the tour, meet Australia’s famous wildlife.

Your tour of New Zealand starts in the Southern Alps where you can explore snow-capped peaks, vistas, gorges and amazing waterfalls. Cruise Milford Sound before settling in for a three night stay in Queenstown, one of New Zealand’s prettiest towns. Experience the magnificent Franz Josef Glacier and the majestic Mount Cook region. Discover the 19th-century gold rush settlement of Arrowtown and cap off your adventure making new friends when dining with a local family in their home.

Despite being a remote town in the country’s Northern Territory, Alice Springs is a bustling hub of culture, history and natural beauty. An urban heritage winds through the town past stone buildings and museums. Drawing visitors from around the globe, the red rock monolith Uluru in the centre of Australia is a dramatic backdrop. Immerse yourself in the traditions of the Walpiri Aboriginal people, with your guide offering insightful narrative into the stories they have recounted for generations.

Day 1-2: Fly to Australia, AU

Begin your vacation with an included flight to Australia from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (ask about departures from other gateways). Cross the International Dateline and land in Australia.

Day 3: Cairns, AU

Cairns is a paradise brimming with natural beauty. Home to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns offers endless adventures to nature lovers in a delightful tropical environment. Soak up the sun, snorkel, hike, explore or relax today – or ask your tour director for suggestions.

Day 4: Great Barrier Reef, AU

Take a catamaran to the Low Isles to explore the Great Barrier Reef’s underwater world. Today you decide how you would like to experience this World Heritage Site: relax and stroll the shores, go snorkeling and meet the sea life, hike with a local history expert or chat with a marine biologist during an informative presentation.

Day 5: Cairns, AU

Spend the morning as you wish – continue to uncover Carins’ hidden gems in town or relax on the beach. Optional tours make for unforgettable experiences, like the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway that boasts thrilling views from above the rainforest canopy. After lunch, visit Hartley’s Croc Farm for a chance to get close to crocs and other wildlife native to Australia like  wild birds, reptiles and wallabies. Meet adorable koalas and learn about them from a wildlife naturalist.

Day 6-7: Melbourne, AU

Fly to cosmopolitan Melbourne. Lively and historic all at once, your time here includes a tour of the Victoria Market, Fitzroy Gardens and the National Opal Centre. Expand your exploration of Australia with fascinating option excursions like a trip to Phillip Island, home to the world’s largest colony of Little Penguins. In your free time, stroll Melbourne at your leisure or ask your Tour Director for dining and entertainment tips.

Day 8-9: Alice Springs, AU

Fly from Melbourne to Alice Springs. In the heart of the Australian Outback is this tranquil and laid-back town. The history and culture of the Walpiri Aboriginal people comes to life during a “Dreamtime Tour”. Learn about the Walpiri’s stories of creation and their day-to-day life. Meet Drum Atweme, a musical group of at-risk youth from the local community. A bush dinner set against the backdrop of the stunning desert landscapes is a memorable evening.

Day 10: Uluru, AU

Day 11-13: Sydney, AU

Fly from Alice Springs to vibrant Sydney. Dinner in the bustling Darling Harbour restaurant area with your fellow passengers is a perfect way to feel the energy of the city. Embark on a sightseeing tour of Sydney, taking in landmarks and highlights including Kings Cross, the Harbour Bridge, Chinatown, the Rocks, Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens and Paddington. The iconic Sydney Opera House is best explored during an exclusive tour (get your cameras ready for this photo opp!) Explore during your free time or unwind. Ask your Tour Director for suggestions. On your final day in Sydney, spend the day exploring at your own pace: shop, stroll or unwind at your well-appointed hotel. In the evening, experience the best of Sydney during a delightful dinner cruise of Sydney Harbour.

Arrive in Queenstown and settle into your hotel.

Day 17: Milford Sound, NZ

Milford Sound is one of the most visited sights on the South Island, and you will see why during a cruise of this natural wonder. Day 18: Free day in Queenstown, NZ

Spend a day in Queenstown at your leisure. This charming village offers plenty of opportunities to unwind or be active: take a jet boat ride on the Shotover River or join a “Journey through Middle Earth” tour which showcases many of the spots where The Lord of the Rings movies were filmed. Your Tour director is a trusted resource of travel inspiration.

Day 19: Mt. Cook Region, NZ

Visit Arrowtown, once a 19th-century gold rush settlement – and now beautiful and charming town. Taste local wines and tour a famous vineyard. Savour the freshness of the Central Otago region when you stop at a fruit stand. In Mt. Cook, soak in the Alpine air and embrace this rugged paradise. Take a nature walk, enjoy an optional glacier flightseeing tour (weather permitting) or simply take it all in. Ask your Tour Direction for excursion options.

Day 20: Christchurch, NZ

Return to Christchurch this morning and visit a sheep farm. Learn how a sheep herding dog keeps flocks safe and then watch a sheep shearing demonstration. Enjoy a morning tea on the farm.
