Whether you're looking to test the integrity of your lounge chair with a frosty beverage in hand or the loudspeaker atmosphere of a motorsport racetrack, Daytona smashes both records.
An American icon, “The World’s Most Famous Beach” draws sun-seekers, beach lovers, socialites, and active adventurers from around the globe. Visit the Daytona Beach Pier, an historic attraction along the 37-kilometre stretch of hard-packed sand – a great photo opp!
The bustle of a beachside festival adds flair to a day under the sun. From motorsports and music to one-of-a-kinds and food, Daytona is home to over 60 renowned festivals. Explore the sights, sounds, and flavours of the Fiesta Italiana, Halifax Art Festival, Celtic Festival, Oyster Festival, Daytona Turkey Run Car Show and Swap, and Riverfest Seafood Festival (to name a few)!
What to do at the most famous beach in the world? Well... parasail, paddle board, ocean kayak, surf, jet ski, scuba dive shipwrecks, or snorkel artificial reefs. When fishing is on your list, cast a line for tarpon, sailfish, redfish, spotted sea trout, and snook from the pier or by charter. Troll inshore amongst the mangroves, or go guided deep sea fishing and bring back dinner with an amazing story!
Away from the beach, Daytona’s cultural venues stack up to impress. With over $2 billion in tourism investment, it’s no surprise that the Travel Channel named Daytona Beach the “#1 Florida Attraction.”
The 1887 Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum (Florida’s tallest) provides gorgeous views 53m above the Atlantic. Visit The Casement mansion in Ormond Beach, John D. Rockefeller’s famous winter residence. The Museum of Arts & Sciences pays tribute to speed, history, and space (it’s also a planetarium), showcasing a mishmash of Cuban art and American memorabilia. The Marine Science Center has a 5000-gallon reef aquarium, and a stingray touch pool. Chip through the palmettos on any of the fabulous fairways designed by sports legends. Stroll the historic boardwalk, an esplanade of entertainment built in 1920 with its famous coquina rock Bandshell amphitheatre.
The Nautilus Inn is located oceanside in Daytona Beach. An eastern exposure pulls warm, rosy sunrises from the Atlantic. Towering palms and glorious tropicals dot the beautifully landscaped grounds, and an attractive glass barricade provides shelter from ocean breezes. Comfortable chaise lounges surround the heated pool and hot tub. The hotel décor and furnishings are continually upgraded to maintain a clean, modern look. The hotel and grounds are 100% smoke-free.
All hotel rooms are kitchen-equipped with plenty of storage. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, each with a large private balcony. When making your reservation, choose a room facing the ocean or overlooking the beach to the north or south. (See page 27 for hotel layout.)
Breakfast in the Sand Dollar room with fellow guests starts the day. The scheduled activities help you decide whether it’s a pool and beach day, or a day to see the sights. Our complimentary shuttle bus is available to guests for shopping, dinner, and local excursions. Friendly drivers offer information and personal knowledge of the area. Plan your week in advance to make the most of your vacation time, and stock up on snacks and lunch items at the grocery store!
After a great day, hit the hotel Happy Hour and satisfy your stomach at any of the seafood restaurants, roadhouse eateries, and buffets.
