Enjoy a Stress-Free, Fun Getaway!

Right from the start, allow the stress to melt away while relaxing en route to Michigan, and enjoy a fun “kick back party” on the first night.  In the morning, your first views of Chicago will be stunning, and after your introduction to the city, explore and sample the smorgasbord of diverse museums, galleries, architecture, music and dining experiences.

Day 1:  Travel to Grand Rapids, MI

Enjoy the drive through the wonderful farm country of Southwestern Ontario as fellow guests are picked up along the route. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as you travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan. After checking into the hotel, get to know your fellow guests with a fun “Kick Back Party,” a signature feature of your Drury Inn hotel.

Stay: Drury Inn & Suites, Grand Rapids, MI  (1 night)

Day 2: Chicago, Hancock Tower, Guided City Tour 

After breakfast, board the coach for the short final leg of the journey, arriving in Chicago by mid-morning. Experience breathtaking 360° views of the city from the 94th floor of the building formerly known as Hancock Center, standing 1,000 feet above the Magnificent Mile. Next, indulge in a delicious Chicago-style pizza lunch, a true local specialty. Afterward, embark on a guided city tour, showcasing Chicago’s key landmarks and attractions. After checking into your downtown hotel, enjoy a free evening to experience the fantastic cuisine for which Chicago is famous.

Day 3: Chicago River Cruise, Free Time to Explore Chicago

Take a leisurely morning to enjoy the hotel amenities or to visit an attraction of your choice. Transportation will be provided to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium, allowing you to explore some of Chicago’s most iconic institutions. For lunch, dine at the historic Walnut Room in Macy’s on State Street, home to the first restaurant ever opened in a department store. After lunch, head to the dock to embark on a sightseeing cruise and experience Chicago from the water. We will return to the hotel in time for you to freshen up before heading out for a special farewell group dinner.

Day 4: Journey Home

After breakfast, we will head home. Along the way, there will be a stop for lunch, giving everyone a chance to stretch, browse at the duty-free shop, and take a break for dinner. With these stops and the camaraderie of fellow travellers, the time will pass quickly. Before you know it, you’ll be saying goodbye to new friends and arriving home with beautiful memories of the sights in Chicago.

This itinerary includes a boat cruise. Although for most people medication is not required, there may be some who may want to bring along a remedy for motion sickness. You don’t want to let a little thing like that spoil these amazing experiences.
