        9/11 Memorial Museum

        Located within the archaeological heart of the original World Trade Centre, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum honours the nearly 3,000 people killed in the September 11th, 2001 attacks as well as the six people killed in the February 1993 bombing of the North Tower. Through state-of-the-art multimedia exhibits, archives and monumental artifacts, the Museum tells the story of not only the fallen, but also recognizes the thousands who survived and who showed extraordinary courage and compassion in the catastrophe’s aftermath.


        One World Trade Centre/ Observatory

        Explore the bedrock upon which New Your City is built, hear the voices of those who built One World Trade Center, then board the SkyPod Elevators and climb 102 stories in 47 seconds.         Day 1: Travel to Scranton, PA

        Board the coach and relax as we cross into the United States near Gananoque, with beautiful views of the Thousand Islands.  Stop at the Salmon Run Mall in Watertown for lunch and time to shop before making our way to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, settle into your room, then get to know your fellow travellers during a cocktail reception and a relaxing dinner

        Day 2: Welcome to the Big Apple

        After an included breakfast, board the coach and depart for New York City. Feel the excitement and energy of Times Square as you explore this famous district. For lunch, walk a few blocks to Restaurant Row, this culinary destination offers something for everyone, and the way-finding kiosks located at the end of each block, have a full listing of restaurants. Don’t worry, your tour director can help point you in the right direction. After lunch, board the coach for a 3-hour guided tour through the different neighbourhoods of New York City, including Central Park. Return to Times Square and check in to your centrally located hotel. Freshen up, rejoin the group, and walk to dinner at Gayle’s Broadway Rose, where aspiring theatre performers will sing as they serve your meal.

        Day 3: Famous Sights and a Broadway Show 

        After a restful evening, depart for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This commemorative location celebrates and honours the lives lost during both terrorist attacks (1993 and 2001) and educates people on the impacts of terrorism. Pause at Memorial Plaza, a place for gathering, remembrance, and reflection before entering the 9/11 Museum. During the guided tour, learn from experts about what transpired that day and see artifacts recovered from Ground Zero. After lunch, meet at the One World Observatory and ride the SkyPod elevators to the highest point in the city. Take in the New York skyline with 360 ° views and enjoy the many interactive displays showcasing New York from a different perspective. With a short time to freshen up, rejoin the group and walk to an included dinner. Afterward, walk a short distance to see The Great Gatsby.

        Day 4: Free time in New York City 

        Today is the day you get to experience New York City, your way! You can choose to arrange your own plans or you can select from the options listed in the Optional Additional section. Pre-selected excursions need to be paid for in advance and transportation will be provided.  In the evening, enjoy an included dinner before walking to the Gershwin theatre to see Wicked.

        Day 5: The Journey Home 

        Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to the Big Apple. After breakfast, depart from the city and head towards home. Read a book, watch a movie, or chat with your new friends as you travel home with lunch and an included dinner break scheduled. Cross the border and bid farewell to new friends with a heart full of new memories.

        The Hilton Scranton & Conference Center provides all the comforts and amenities guests look forward to when travelling: an indoor pool, an on-site restaurant, and clean, comfortable rooms. This is a perfect stopover hotel to get to know your fellow travellers.


        New York Marriott Marquis, Times Square, New York City, NY (3 nights)

        The location of this hotel says it all. You will be staying at a marquis location in the heart of Times Square! This newly renovated Marriott hotel is an iconic fixture that captures the vibrance and spirit of Manhattan. Stepping outside, on West 46th and Broadway, be immediately immersed in the energy of the city, with some of New York’s most famous and exciting attractions nearby, just waiting to be experienced. After a day of sightseeing, return to quiet, spacious accommodations; a place to relax and recharge.

        In New York City, walking can be faster than other transportation options, and we will be walking to some of the included attractions. Especially if taking an additional walking tour, we recommend comfortable shoes for walking.

      • Optional Additions

        Guests from anywhere in the world can join this tour by flying into Toronto with connections to a pickup point.  Please contact us to discuss your airfare and pre-and post-tour accommodation options.  


        DAY 4 is a day for exploring and coach transportation is provided for the following optional additions. Guests can choose to do ONE activity in the morning and ONE in the afternoon.


        MORNING OPTIONS: 

        A) Radio City Music Hall

        (1 hr, $65)

        Take a guided tour of the majestic auditorium. Go behind the curtain to learn about the history of this famous stage and end with a meet and greet with a Radio City Rockette. 


        B) Intrepid Air Sea and Space Museum

        (1hr, $90)

        Enjoy a guided tour of a National Historic Landmark. Here you will learn about the technological marvels in the Museum’s collection, and as a special treat, guests will get an up-close look inside Concorde’s first-class cabin. 


        AFTERNOON OPTIONS

        A) Madame Tussauds Wax Museum

        (unlimited time, $75)

        Explore the world-famous museum and its 200 lifelike wax figures including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Michael Jackson, and more! 


        B) The United Nations

        (1hr guided tour, $50)

        See the headquarters of international diplomacy. Learn about the history and work of the United Nations and visit the famous General Assembly Hall and Security Council Chamber (meetings permitting).
