The Canadian Empress is a classic-style replica riverboat offering an intimate St. Lawrence River cruising experience. Due to the ship-type, there are no elevators. Guests stay in comfortable St. Lawrence category cabins and enjoy relaxed onboard service, traditional dining, and panoramic views from the salon and open decks as the ship travels through historic waterways, locks, and riverside communities. Cabins are primarily configured with twin beds, with limited flexibility for alternate arrangements.

Mobility & Accessibility - The Canadian Empress is a small, classic riverboat with a heritage design. Guests using walkers or mobility aids should be comfortable navigating narrow passageways, steps, and variable dock conditions. Shore excursions may also involve walking on uneven surfaces and within historic sites.

As this voyage remains entirely within Canadian waters, no additional travel documentation is required. However, guests are encouraged to carry a valid passport or government-issued photo identification as the itinerary passes through U.S. waters. Please note that mobile devices may briefly connect to U.S. networks during the cruise; guests without an international roaming plan may wish to disable data roaming to avoid additional charges.

Dress on board is relaxed and easygoing, with comfort being the priority throughout your journey. During the day, casual clothing is ideal, while evenings remain informal. Some guests choose to dress up slightly for the final evening, opting for smart or dressy casual attire. For shore excursions and time on deck, comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. It’s also a good idea to pack layers for changing temperatures, along with sun protection for warmer days.

While most guests don’t experience motion sickness, those prone to it may want to bring a remedy.
